Fat Dog 120 Went Up in Smoke. What Do You Do When the Goal Disappears?

Realizing the Importance of the Journey

Well, it wasn’t the event we pictured when we signed up, and it’s disappointing to face, but Fat Dog 120 being cancelled isn’t the end of my running career, so I will live in the disappointment, grieve the loss, and move on. That’s all we can do, right? The good news is, Coach Andrew Miller has great perspective, and we had a great episode chatting about what to do when your A goal is suddenly gone. It’s not what we want to deal with, but it’s relevant and helpful information when we do have to deal with it. It’s important to appreciate the journey, and that’s never been more evident to me than now.

Shout out to the Fat Dog 120 crew, Christine, Erik, and the gang. We know this couldn’t have been easy. Nobody wins in these situations. We wish you some good recovery time and a strong 2027 event!
